Dr. Nahom Mesfin is an Assistant Professor and consultant at the College of Health Sciences, Tikur Anbessa Specialized Hospital, Addis Ababa University. Certified both as an Independent Practitioner and Trainer through the Toronto Addis Ababa Academic Collaboration in Emergency Medicine (TAAAC-EM), he has excelled in integrating ultrasound into critical patient care. His contributions to ultrasound-based diagnostics are further demonstrated through his research on the “Accuracy of focused cardiac ultrasound interpretation among emergency and critical care medicine residents in Ethiopia,” published on the AfJEM in early 2024, highlighting the transformative role of continuous education in enhancing diagnostic accuracy.
Dr. Nahom is deeply passionate about advancing the integration of POCUS in emergency and critical care medicine. He envisions a future where POCUS becomes an indispensable tool in every clinician’s diagnostic arsenal, ensuring timely, precise, and life-saving interventions for patients worldwide.
