Ryan Wong is currently an Internal Medicine Resident at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is very grateful for the opportunities his mentors provided for him to grow his POCUS skills and he wishes to pass that knowledge on to the next generation of learners. During his time as a medical student and resident, he developed a passion for applying POCUS to clinical decision-making and teaching others interested in POCUS. He currently serves as one of the three POCUS scholars for his residency program, continues to spread the utility of POCUS in the critical care setting, and is eager to expand the field of POCUS with the growing popularity of VExUS scanning. He plans to pursue a fellowship in both cardiology and critical care where ultrasound is growing in popularity and its utility in helping the critically ill, especially patients requiring mechanical circulatory support.
