Timothy Kennell is currently a Pulmonary and Critical Care fellow at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He completed medical school, his doctoral thesis in clinical informatics, and residency at the same institution. During his time as a resident, he developed a passion for POCUS and its ability to provide immediate diagnostic information in order to assist in clinical decision-making. In the last year of residency, he served as one of two POCUS scholars for his residency program, engaging in ultrasound teaching and research. Transitioning to fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine, POCUS now serves as a foundational skill, providing crucial data for rapid life-saving decisions. He has remained engaged in POCUS research and resident teaching throughout fellowship and plans to become critical care ultrasound boarded in the coming year.
