Dr. Will Saunders is a Family Medicine trained physician teaching at Piedmont Athens Regional Internal Medicine Residency. Dr. Saunders completed Family Medicine Residency at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
During residency, Dr. Saunders completed the Point of Care Ultrasound Training Track as well as the Academic Medicine Pathway. He completed his ultrasound fellowship at the Medical College of Georgia while also serving as a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Family Medicine.
Dr. Saunders is a proud “Triple Dawg” having graduated from the University of Georgia with a BS in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, an MBA from UGA’s Terry College of Business, and an MD from the AU-UGA Medical Partnership. He has wide-ranging interests from evidence-based medicine to anti-racist praxis in medicine to making the business case for POCUS and providing high-value care.
Dr. Saunders’s goals are to champion the expansion of POCUS in primary care and teach the utility of using bedside ultrasound in hospital medicine.
