Dr. Benjamin Bryden is a clinician, educator, and global health advocate serving as faculty for the Family Medicine Residency of Western Montana (FMRWM) at the University of Montana. Dr. Bryden is a family physician and after completing a fellowship in surgical obstetrics, Dr. Bryden went on to earn formal certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in OB/Gyn ultrasound. As the POCUS Curriculum Lead for FMRWM, he directs comprehensive training in both general Point-of-Care Ultrasound and advanced obstetric imaging, with a focus on preparing the next generation of rural physicians to deliver high-quality care anywhere in the world.
Dr. Bryden’s passion for global health equity brought him to Lesotho, where from 2018 to 2020, he served as faculty for a postgraduate Family Medicine program, where he remains actively involved in regional ultrasound training projects. He has also served as international faculty for the International Society for Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ISUOG), teaching obstetric ultrasound for the Rwandan College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Bryden is also a primary contributor to the ISUOG online module on Intrapartum Ultrasound for their Advanced Training Curriculum. As a GUSI instructor, his global experience makes comprehensive bedside ultrasound accessible to clinical settings worldwide.
