course overview
A Look Back At POCUS for Primary Care, San Francisco
On October 15–16, 2026, primary care clinicians came to the Hilton San Francisco Financial District for two days of in-person Point-of-Care Ultrasound training. The course mixed high-yield lectures with immersive hands-on scanning sessions, so attendees could build practical ultrasound skills for everyday clinical care.
The course used a flipped classroom model with low instructor-to-learner and learner-to-ultrasound ratios, which gave every participant as much time on the probe as possible.
Attendees learned from physician-instructors who are both expert educators and skilled POCUS practitioners. Participants could earn up to 38.5 CME credits: 13.5 from the in-person course and 25 from the GUSI POCUS Essentials Online Course, which they can keep using through November 16, 2026.
