Hands-On Point of Care Ultrasound Training for Primary Care
GUSI's acclaimed in-person Point of Care Ultrasound Training is now in the UK! It combines high-yield lectures and hands-on scanning sessions. The first opportunity for GPs in Northern Ireland to participate in training for Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS).
This is a hands-on, collaborative and clinically focused course that introduces the core POCUS concepts taught by expert GPs and Sonographer Trainers. Topics will include Aorta, Gallbladder, Renal Tract, Cardiac and DVT scanning.
All learners earn 6 Hours Certified CPD.
Hands-On Point of Care Ultrasound Training for Primary Care
GUSI's acclaimed two-day in-person Point of Care Ultrasound Training course combines high-yield lectures and hands-on scanning sessions. This 13.5 CME course uses a flipped classroom model and is designed to maximize scanning time through low instructor to learner and learner to ultrasound ratios. The course is unique, taught by physicians who are both skilled POCUS practitioners and expert educators. Course participants receive three+ months of complimentary access to our online POCUS Essentials Course (25 CME hours, a $309 annual subscription) -- available immediately after registration.
NEW COURSE: This two-day, in-person course is designed to help primary care clinicians learn the basics of diagnostic and injection techniques with ultrasound.
On day One, hands-on scanning supervision by faculty will help each learner master the basic diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound exams.
On day Two, cadavers will be used to allow participants to practice the basic musculoskeletal ultrasound injection techniques. 15-16 hours over two days, CME eligible.
Access to GUSI’s online MSK Essentials course is included (available upon registration up to 10/01/2025).

OB POCUS Review
GUSI is partnering with Swedish Health to deliver our acclaimed in-person Point of Care Ultrasound experience which combines high-yield lectures and hands-on scanning sessions of pregnant volunteer model patients in an inclusive, collaborative, learning environment. The course is taught by a multidisciplinary group of FM-OB, OBGYN and MFM physicians who are both skilled POCUS practitioners and passionate educators. Course participants also receive access to our online longitudinal OB POCUS curriculum for additional CME.
Participants will learn how to identify and clinically integrate:
1. Fetal Presentation
2. Fetal Number
3. Amniotic Fluid Assessment
4. Placental Location
5. Fetal Heart Rate.
Build confidence with new skills in: 1st trimester pregnancy dating and troubleshooting; Basic 2nd/3rd trimester dating with biometry; Ectopic pregnancy evaluation; Ultrasound for IUD care; and how to perform a biophysical profile.
