Acceptable Use Policy
Effective Date: October 20, 2026
Last Updated: October 20, 2026
1. Introduction and Scope
Welcome to Global Ultrasound Institute, Inc. (“GUSI,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Acceptable Use Policy (“Policy”) describes the standards and responsibilities that apply when you access or use our website, educational products, learning platforms, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).
The Services may include our website at globalultrasoundinstitute.com, ScanHub, online courses and Essentials courses, in-person workshops, webinars, virtual fellowships, scan review and feedback tools, educational resources, and related accounts, communications, and support features.
Please read this Policy along with our Privacy Policy and any terms applicable to a particular purchase, program, platform, or institutional arrangement. By accessing or using the Services, you agree to comply with this Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
Additional terms agreed upon between GUSI and a healthcare organization, educational institution, employer, or other institutional client (a “Client Agreement”) may apply to institutionally provided access. If a provision of this Policy conflicts with a Client Agreement, the Client Agreement governs to the extent of the conflict for that institutional service, subject to applicable law.
2. Important Medical and Educational Disclaimer
GUSI provides education, training, and related tools. GUSI is not acting as your healthcare provider by providing the Services.
- Content and instruction provided through the Services are intended for education, professional development, and training.
- Content is not a substitute for independent professional clinical judgment, medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
- Access to the Services does not establish a clinician-patient, physician-patient, or other healthcare provider-patient relationship with GUSI.
- Users remain responsible for complying with applicable professional licensing requirements, clinical standards, scope-of-practice rules, and institutional policies.
- Courses, assessments, certificates, or other educational accomplishments do not independently confer a license to practice medicine or establish clinical competency unless expressly stated by an authorized accrediting or licensing body.
Clinical decisions and patient care remain the responsibility of appropriately qualified healthcare professionals and their organizations.
3. Eligibility and Authorized Access
Individuals may access publicly available portions of the website. Enrollment in courses and access to restricted Services are available only to users who satisfy the eligibility, payment, registration, and other requirements applicable to those offerings.
Users entering into an agreement directly with GUSI must be legally capable of doing so. If you access a Service through an employer, institution, or sponsoring organization, you must also be authorized by that organization and comply with its applicable rules.
You must not access or use the Services if doing so would violate applicable law or a restriction imposed by GUSI or your sponsoring organization.
4. Accounts and Account Security
Some Services require you to create or receive an account. You agree to provide accurate registration information, keep it reasonably current, and use your account only as authorized.
- Keep passwords, access links, and other credentials confidential.
- Do not share, transfer, sell, or allow unauthorized persons to use your account.
- Promptly report suspected unauthorized access or security incidents to support@globalultrasoundinstitute.com.
- Do not circumvent enrollment limits, subscription restrictions, access controls, or other security measures.
GUSI may restrict, suspend, or terminate access where reasonably necessary to address violations of this Policy, security risks, fraudulent activity, legal requirements, or the end of an applicable subscription or institutional arrangement, subject to applicable law and agreements.
5. Permitted Use
You may use the Services for lawful, authorized educational, professional-development, and related purposes in accordance with the terms of the offering you have accessed.
Individual course access is intended for the registered learner unless a product expressly allows otherwise. Institutionally provided access must remain within the scope of the applicable Client Agreement. You may use provided learning materials for your own permitted learning purposes, but ownership or broader redistribution rights are not transferred to you.
6. Prohibited Activities
When using the Services, you must not:
- Violate any applicable law, regulation, professional obligation, or another person’s rights.
- Misrepresent your identity, credentials, qualifications, course participation, assessment results, or certificate status.
- Share accounts or facilitate unauthorized access to paid or restricted content.
- Copy, republish, record, sell, license, distribute, or commercially exploit course materials or platform content without authorization, except as expressly permitted by law.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, scrape, systematically extract, or attempt to obtain source code, proprietary datasets, or other protected components of the Services, except where such restriction is prohibited by law.
- Use bots or automated tools in ways that disrupt the Services or bypass access or usage limits.
- Upload malware, harmful code, or content intended to impair systems or compromise information.
- Attempt unauthorized access to accounts, networks, databases, or other systems.
- Harass, threaten, discriminate against, or abuse other learners, instructors, staff, or participants.
- Submit content that is unlawful, infringing, deceptive, defamatory, or otherwise harmful.
- Manipulate course completion, attendance, assessments, training records, scan review submissions, or certification processes.
- Use the Services to provide unauthorized medical advice or to suggest that GUSI endorses a particular clinical decision without permission.
7. Patient Privacy and Protected Health Information
Do not submit protected health information (PHI) or other identifiable patient information through general GUSI Services that are not expressly designated and authorized for that purpose.
These Services must not be assumed to satisfy HIPAA or other healthcare data protection requirements. Unless GUSI has expressly approved a separate workflow with appropriate safeguards and agreements, you must not upload or disclose:
- Patient names, medical record numbers, dates of birth, or contact details;
- Identifiable ultrasound images or videos;
- Clinical notes, reports, or case materials containing patient identifiers; or
- Any combination of information that could reasonably identify a patient.
Before submitting case studies, ultrasound images, assessments, or other educational material, you are responsible for removing identifiers and complying with applicable privacy laws, patient consent requirements, employment obligations, and institutional policies. Removing visible names alone may not be sufficient to de-identify a record.
If you believe you have submitted patient-identifiable information in error, stop further sharing and contact support@globalultrasoundinstitute.com promptly.
8. User Content and Institutional Data
You remain responsible for information, files, images, comments, answers, and other material that you submit through the Services (“User Content”). If access is provided through a Client, the applicable Client Agreement may define additional rights and responsibilities for data submitted on the Client’s behalf (“Client Data”).
You represent that you have the necessary rights, permissions, and consents to submit User Content and to permit GUSI to process it for the applicable Service. Do not submit confidential third-party material or copyrighted works without authorization.
Subject to applicable law and the Privacy Policy, you grant GUSI a non-exclusive license to host, store, reproduce, process, transmit, display, and otherwise use User Content only as reasonably necessary to operate, provide, secure, support, and improve the Services, or as otherwise expressly authorized by you or the governing agreement.
For Client Data, any separate Client Agreement governs applicable ownership, licensing, retention, and permitted uses. This Policy does not replace or expand data rights specifically established in that agreement.
9. Intellectual Property
Except for User Content and Client Data owned by others, the Services and their course materials, videos, illustrations, assessments, platform features, software, designs, trademarks, and other protected content belong to GUSI or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Your access grants a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable permission to use relevant content for permitted purposes during your authorized access. No ownership rights or right to redistribute materials are granted unless explicitly agreed in writing.
Use of GUSI’s name, trademarks, logos, or branding in a way that implies endorsement, sponsorship, or affiliation requires prior authorization.
10. Assessments, Certificates, and Professional Conduct
Participants must complete courses, assessments, assignments, and required activities honestly and in accordance with instructions. Unless expressly permitted, do not submit work performed by another person or use unauthorized assistance in graded or verified activities.
Course completion certificates and continuing education documentation, where offered, depend on meeting the requirements for the relevant program. GUSI may review and correct erroneous records or withhold or revoke credentials obtained through misrepresentation or misconduct, subject to applicable program rules and law.
Participation in webinars, discussions, or other interactive activities requires respectful and professional conduct toward instructors and fellow participants.
11. Feedback
We welcome suggestions and feedback about our Services. Unless otherwise agreed in writing or restricted by applicable law, you authorize GUSI to use non-confidential feedback to evaluate, improve, and develop its products and services without compensation to you. Do not include patient information or other confidential information in feedback.
12. Monitoring, Enforcement, and Reporting
To protect users, educational integrity, and platform security, GUSI may investigate suspected violations of this Policy and take proportionate action, including removing prohibited content, restricting features, suspending accounts, terminating access, or reporting unlawful activity to appropriate authorities when required or permitted by law.
Our enforcement decisions are subject to applicable law, contractual commitments, and the circumstances of the violation. To report misuse or a security concern, email support@globalultrasoundinstitute.com.
13. Third-Party Services and Links
The Services may connect to third-party websites, payment processors, video conferencing tools, learning platforms, and other external services. Their separate terms and privacy practices may apply. GUSI is not responsible for third-party services outside its control, except as required by applicable law or agreement.
14. Availability, Changes, and Disclaimers
We may update, modify, or discontinue particular Service features as operational, educational, security, or legal needs change. If changes materially affect a paid or contractually committed service, applicable purchase terms, Client Agreements, and legal obligations will govern.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Services and content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability.
Nothing in this Policy excludes guarantees or remedies that cannot legally be excluded.
15. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, GUSI and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from use of or inability to use the Services, including lost profits, lost opportunities, or loss of data.
Nothing in this Policy excludes or limits liability to the extent such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by law. Any additional liability provisions contained in applicable service terms or a Client Agreement remain subject to those terms.
16. Governing Law and Disputes
Unless applicable law or a separate written agreement requires otherwise, this Policy is governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes involving Client Data or institutionally authorized use may also be governed by the relevant Client Agreement.
Nothing in this Policy deprives individuals of rights or remedies that cannot be waived under applicable law.
17. Updates to This Policy
We may revise this Policy periodically. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date. Where required by law or applicable agreement, we will provide additional notice of material changes.
Continued use of the Services after a revised Policy becomes effective constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by applicable law. If you do not agree to a revised Policy, you should discontinue use of the affected Services.
