Instructor
Ellie Andrews is a sonographer-turned-PA with over 17 years of general, vascular and OB ultrasound experience. She works in the interventional radiology and surgical settings, and has a passion for teaching image optimization, needle guidance, correlating ultrasound imaging with CT/MRI and in surgery, and procedural ultrasound technique. She sees point-of-care ultrasound as an extension of the practitioner’s hands and the single most practical diagnostic tool to save time and make on-the-spot lifesaving clinical decisions.
Ellie has a passion for teaching and global health. She is a clinical preceptor for the University of Washington Physician Assistant program and has been a part of multiple beginner and advanced ultrasound trainings for clinicians throughout Laos. She has taught ultrasound technique and practical POCUS tips to sonographers, APPs, physicians, and midwives throughout her career. She is honored to be a part of GUSI’s mission to empower clinicians to embrace this practical and important tool.
When she’s not wearing scrubs, you can find Ellie in the garden, walking her dog, or traveling whenever she can to wherever she can.
