Dr. Maisa Abdulaziz Al-Nimry is an Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialist with over 25 years of experience in women’s health, reproductive medicine, and maternal care. Based in Aden, Yemen, she currently serves as Director of Reproductive Health at the Al-Haswa Complex, where she leads programs focused on improving maternal and neonatal outcomes.
Dr. Al-Nimry earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Aden University in 1997, followed by a Master’s Degree in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2012, accredited by the Regional Office of the World Health Organization.
Throughout her career, she has held key clinical and leadership roles in reproductive health, including with the Yemeni Red Crescent Society and multiple maternity and teaching hospitals. She has also served as a trainer and facilitator in numerous national and international programs, focusing on emergency obstetric and neonatal care, family planning, and infection prevention—many in collaboration with UNFPA and other global partners.
As one of GUSI’s National Leads for Yemen, Dr. Al-Nimry plays a vital role in advancing point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) education and implementation across the region. She is deeply committed to strengthening reproductive health systems and empowering healthcare providers to deliver safer, evidence-based care for women and families in Yemen.
