Sherin Mahrat

Dr. Mahrat is a combined Social and Global Emergency Medicine and Ultrasound Fellow at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She completed her Emergency Medicine residency at Cook County Hospital. Her interests focus on point-of-care ultrasound education, global health, and emergency care in resource-limited settings.

As an ultrasound fellow, she leads resident and medical student education, image review and quality assurance, curriculum development, and bedside ultrasound instruction across a wide range of emergency ultrasound applications. Her academic interests include ultrasound-guided procedures and nerve blocks and the use of ultrasound in global and resource-limited settings. She has also conducted research on ultrasound applications in sickle cell disease as well as emergency care in Uganda. Dr. Mahrat is committed to advancing equitable ultrasound education and sustainable domestic and global training initiatives.
