Dr. Courtney Wright completed her Family Medicine Residency at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center in California. She has integrated POCUS into a wide range of clinical settings, including high-risk obstetric care, labor and delivery including surgical obstetrics, emergency departments, and inpatient medicine at a critical access hospital.
One of her most memorable POCUS moments occurred when she wheeled a dusty ultrasound machine—discovered tucked away in the corner of a rural ED— to the inpatient unit. A surprised radiology tech stopped her in the hallway and exclaimed, “What are you doing with that? I’ve never seen a doctor use it!”
Dr. Wright is deeply committed to providing whole-person care to underserved communities, with particular interests in reproductive health and the use of bedside ultrasound for procedural guidance. She enjoys teaching and mentoring learners across the clinical spectrum in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
