Elvis Rugut is a trained and registered Radiographer and Echocardiographer. He has been practicing in Kenya for over 10 years. Currently, Elvis serves within the Kenyan Ministry of Defence, specifically in the Department of Medical Services, where he plays a key role in Health Systems Management for the Military Medical Facilities and Medical Reception Stations. He is interested in ultrasound training, CMEs, and workshops for Medical Imaging fellows, residents, students, and colleagues. He has recently done an ultrasound workshop for Radiographers in Kenya. He is an Ultrasound Application Specialist with Siemens Kenya. It is worth noting that Elvis, in partnership with Global Ultrasound Institute (GUSI), was involved in training 514 healthcare providers from 8 counties in Kenya on obstetrics POCUS. With a keen interest in health systems management, health economics, and public health, Elvis believes that POCUS has the potential to revolutionize healthcare delivery, particularly in low-resource settings. His goal is to ensure that high-quality, timely, and affordable care is accessible to all people, irrespective of their socioeconomic status, gender, or political and religious affiliations.
