If you’re a GP in Northern Ireland with an interest in musculoskeletal care and joint injections, this is your chance to take your skills to the next level.

On this intensive training day, our expert GPs will guide you through real-patient ultrasound-guided injections for the shoulder and knee. With low trainee-to-trainer ratios, you’ll benefit from plenty of personal guidance and hands-on injection practice using high-quality ultrasound machines in a real clinical environment.

Who can attend?

  • GPs on the Northern Ireland GP Performers’ List

  • Must have existing indemnity for joint injections

  • Attendance at Day 1 MSK POCUS course is required

No prior ultrasound experience is required. Our courses are designed for all experience levels, from complete beginners to those seeking to advance their skills. We recommend reviewing the “Scanning Technique” videos in your complimentary online course access before attending for an optimized learning experience.

Yes, you will receive both CME credits (typically 13.5-16 hours depending on the specific course) and a certificate of completion. GUSI also provides a transcript with lessons completed and test scores. For residents, we provide residency directors with a template for minimum scanning competency based on AAFP curriculum guidelines.

GUSI provided exactly the training I needed to enable me to introduce POCUS to the group of community health workers I work with in rural Guatemala. Although I hadn’t touched an OB ultrasound in 25 years, the GUSI online and in-person OB course gave me the tools I needed. I successfully replicated their “Big 5” training in Guatemala, and every community health worker learned how to scan pregnant women for these critical findings. The most thrilling moment was when we discovered that one of the CHWs herself was 13 weeks pregnant—with twins! This wouldn’t have been possible without GUSI.
