    This intensive 4-day course is designed to equip healthcare professionals with the practical ultrasound skills needed to make fast, accurate, and confident clinical decisions at the bedside. Delivered at Lariox Skills Academy and fully accredited by Kenya’s Ministry of Health (MOH), this programme is built around Kenya’s National O-POCUS Guidelines — ensuring your training is directly relevant to the clinical environment you work in.

    Over four fully immersive days, participants receive structured, hands-on training across the core components of obstetric point-of-care ultrasound:

    ✅ Fetal Presentation — Accurately identify fetal lie and presentation to guide clinical management and delivery planning.
    ✅ Fetal Number — Detect and confirm the number of fetuses with confidence.
    ✅ Placental Location — Identify placental position and screen for placenta praevia.
    ✅ Fetal Heart Rate (FHR) — Assess and document fetal cardiac activity at the bedside.
    ✅ Amniotic Fluid Adequacy — Evaluate fluid levels to support clinical decision-making in obstetric care.
    ✅ Gestational Dating — Apply appropriate biometric measurements for accurate dating in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimesters.

Although I hadn’t touched an OB ultrasound in 25 years, the GUSI online and in-person OB course gave me the tools I needed. I successfully replicated their “Big 5” training in Guatemala, and every community health worker learned how to scan pregnant women for these critical findings.
