Dr. David Pichardo-Gomez is a family medicine physician and core faculty member at Stanford Tri-Valley Family Medicine Residency. He practices full-spectrum outpatient care, providing continuity for patients of all ages, and has a strong commitment to medical education. He has facilitated national workshops on point-of-care ultrasound and is passionate about integrating ultrasound and procedural education throughout residency training. He also brings experience in curriculum development, career advising, and creating innovative group visit models to enhance community-centered care.

Dr. Pichardo-Gomez earned his MD from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), and completed his residency at the Contra Costa Family Medicine Residency Program. He also holds a Master of Public Health in Leadership and Management and completed a Faculty Development Fellowship through UCSF. A long-standing advocate for lifestyle and community medicine, he founded and led interest groups at UCSF and Contra Costa, promoting evidence-based approaches to nutrition, fitness, and clinician wellness.

He later directed a community wellness center where he oversaw group medical visits and trained residents in group facilitation. These included groups focused on basic cooking and nutrition education in a teaching kitchen setting, as well as centering pregnancy and parenting groups. His contributions to resident education have earned him several teaching and collaboration awards.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Pichardo-Gomez enjoys cooking, dancing (salsa, bachata, and merengue), traveling, and relaxing with his wife and their cat. He is fluent in English and Spanish, conversational in French, and brings a warm, whole-person approach to both teaching and patient care.
