Ryan Anderson

Instructor

Ryan Anderson, DO, serves as Director of Ultrasound at the William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He earned his medical degree from the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia, and completed his internship and residency at Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown, Pennsylvania, where he also obtained certification in Emergency and Critical Care Point-Of-Care Ultrasound.

Dr. Anderson is driven by a deeply held mission to place ownership of ultrasound education firmly within undergraduate medical education (UME), with a focus on curriculum development that translates into measurable clinical competence and improved patient outcomes. Drawing on extensive experience using point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) —from the battlefields of Afghanistan to small, rural emergency departments across the United States—he brings a practical, real-world perspective to medical education and remains a strong advocate for equipping all physicians with essential POCUS knowledge and skills.
