    Strengthen your ability to use Gynecologic Point-of-Care Ultrasound (Gyn POCUS) for rapid bedside assessment and clinical decision-making in common gynecologic and acute pelvic conditions.

    Key Topics

    • 1st Trimester IUP vs Ectopic – Confidently confirm intrauterine pregnancy, identify the yolk sac and fetal pole, and assess for ectopic pregnancy to support critical disposition decisions.
    • FAST (Focused Assessment with Sonography in Trauma) – Rapidly detect free fluid in the abdomen, pelvis, and pericardium, including in suspected ruptured ectopic pregnancy.
    • Adnexal Assessment – Evaluate the ovaries and adnexa to help expedite care for patients presenting with acute pelvic pain.
    • IUD Localization – Accurately identify intrauterine device position and differentiate normal placement from malposition, perforation, or expulsion.
    • Postpartum Considerations – Assess the postpartum uterus for possible retained products of conception.

    GUSI provided exactly the training I needed to enable me to introduce POCUS to the group of community health workers I work with in rural Guatemala. Although I hadn’t touched an OB ultrasound in 25 years, the GUSI online and in-person OB course gave me the tools I needed. I successfully replicated their “Big 5” training in Guatemala, and every community health worker learned how to scan pregnant women for these critical findings. The most thrilling moment was when we discovered that one of the CHWs herself was 13 weeks pregnant—with twins! This wouldn’t have been possible without GUSI.
