Matthew Fentress

Matthew Fentress, MD, DTM&H is Assistant Professor at University of California, Davis in the Department of Family and Community Medicine, and Global Health Program Director. He completed a DTM&H at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and a Global Health Leadership Fellowship with Contra Costa Family Medicine Residency and Massachusetts General Hospital / Harvard Medical School. He has served with Médecins Sans Frontières, working with displaced populations in Myanmar and South Sudan, and with numerous other international organizations on projects in India, Liberia, Haiti, Kenya, Uganda, Malawi and Tanzania. He has enjoyed teaching point-of-care ultrasound since 2011, has written book chapters and articles on the use of POCUS in resource-limited settings, and is currently conducting research in Peru to evaluate the utility of point-of-care lung ultrasound in the diagnosis of pulmonary tuberculosis.
