Global Ultrasound Institute (GUSI) is an online, longitudinal training platform for point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS). Our mission is to equip medical professionals across specialties with high-yield, clinically-relevant POCUS skills. We offer ongoing training, evaluation, and mentorship to an expanding global community of practitioners and residencies.

Our pricing structure varies based on institution, practice setting, and number of participants, and we offer subsidies for those working in low- and middle-income countries (LMIC), as well as for physicians working with underserved populations.

Yes! Our curriculum was designed with residency programs in mind. We offer customized in-person, on-site training, residency-wide access to our acclaimed online Essentials Course for your entire residency (including a performance dashboard to track residents’ performance), and a Scan Portfolio to streamline the process of scan review, resident feedback, and quality assurance.

Our services are specifically designed to benefit clinicians across all medical specialties. GUSI’s founders and instructors have trained hundreds of physicians in various medical specialties, including but not limited to: family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics, emergency medicine and critical care. As such, we encourage clinicians of all specialties and training backgrounds to take part.

Definitely! We believe that POCUS is the most revolutionary addition to patient care and diagnosis since the stethoscope. Therefore, all professionals who take care of patients can benefit from our services. GUSI’s curriculum takes the medical provider from little to no POCUS knowledge to a level of mastery for any clinical setting. Our services combine high-yield lectures and quizzes to test your knowledge with one-to-one mentorship sessions and opportunities to get your scans reviewed in real-time. Our modules include Ultrasound Basics, Cardiac Echo, FAST/E-FAST, Musculoskeletal, Renal, Gallbladder, Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm, Pulmonology, Deep Venous Thrombosis, Obstetrics, Pediatrics, Skin Soft Tissue, and Tuberculosis-HIV.

The GUSI curriculum is modular and adaptable, designed to be completed at a clinician’s own pace and remotely. Between reviewing the didactic modules, test questions, and performing scans, we approximate a total of 5-10 hours per week on average over the course of a year.

GUSI provides a certificate of completion, a transcript with all completed lessons, and a report of final quiz question scores. For residency POCUS champions, GUSI also provides a template for tracking the minimum scanning requirements for competency as dictated by POCUS curriculum guidelines in various specialties. 

GUSI is a preferred education partner of the POCUS Certification Academy; after taking our courses, you’ll be prepared to take their POCUS certification exam. All of GUSI’s courses are CME accredited.
